Makoto Funatsu

Makoto Funatsu was born in Tokyo,Japan in 1977. She graduated from Tama Art University Oil Painting Course, and started work as a freelance illustrator. For the first 10 years Makoto producted illustrations of pop taste in the categories of fashion, beauty and culture. Gradually she began pursuing deep expression, so she had studied illustration again to Tatsuro Kiuchi at Aoyama Juku in Tokyo for three years. And as soon as she graduated, she branched to book jacket illustrations and editorial works.
